Following
a sad end to 2006 the Trustees have found it necessary
to make a series of changes to the management and administration
of the Association
including the appointment of new Trustees and a revision
of the Constitution
due to the fact that it is in part contradictory and no longer
complies with
Charity law. Details will be given to the AGM in April.
The
Trustees have appointed Mrs. Claire Hardesty as the re-homing
Secretary
with responsibility for the waiting list, vetting of new
homes and the collection
and re-homing of Pugs. Mrs. Hardesty has been assisting the
Association for
the past four years and can be contacted at The Granary,
Northfield Road,
Forncett St. Peter, Norwich, Norfolk, NR16 1JY. Telephone:
01953 789997.
All remaining secretarial duties will remain with myself.
Following a busy end to 2006 with fifteen Pugs coming in
for re-homing in
eleven days there has been a much quieter start to 2007.
Two Pugs being re-
homed to date. In addition we have a Pug/ Schih Tzu cross
which will go to a
new home shortly and a four month old Puppy suffering from
Liver Shunt.
The Puppy has now undergone surgery at Newmarket and is currently
convalescing.
On
an entirely different matter I am asked to inform you that
two ladies living
in the London area are planning a sponsored Pug walk in Battersea
Park. The
intention being to raise funds with a view to purchasing
a Bench complete
with a commemorative plaque to be installed in the Park in
memory of Sylvia
Smith in an area where a lot of owners exercise their Pugs.
At
the time of writing the date is yet to be finalised but
the event is likely to be
held in May. Anyone wanting information/ details etc. please
contact Miss
Margaret Wood, 2. Sunbury Lane, Battersea Church Road, Battersea,
London,
SW11 3NP. Telephone: 0207 738 0683.
John Smith.
