Registered Charity No. 276067

1 This information leaflet explains the procedure when you decide you would
like to adopt a Pug.

2 The P.D.W.A. is a registered charity and is totally dependant upon donations, legacies, and monies raised by the Trustees and friends who work tirelessly.

3 When you offer a home to a Pug you will be sent an application form to
complete and return to the Secretary.

4 Your application will then be placed on a waiting list. We currently have over 200 applicants on the list.

5 Do not let this deter you from applying, as everyone wants something different eg. age, colour, sex. Whilst every effort is made to make offers to applicants on the list in date order, this is not always practical. We also have to consider the people and the Pug ensuring that they suit each other.

6 Prior to the offer of a Pug a visit will be made by one of the Trustees to your
home for a general discussion on the responsibilities of adoption.

7 An adoption form has to be signed by the new owner including acceptance
that their Pug must not be used for breeding.

8 The Trustee who delivered your Pug will contact you after a few days to check the Pug has settled and that all is well and you have no wornes.

9 If in the future you are unable to keep your Pug you must contact the Secretary or a Trustee.

10 A Pugs character is unique in that he/she is a clown at heart with a wonderful sense of humour. At the same time he/she is an aristocrat. It would be difficult to find any other dog to equal the virtues of a Pug as a family pet. They appeal to the whole household because of their natural cleanliness and intelligence. A sturdy little dog whom children adore and who adores children and loves to join in their games Older people find them perfect companions because their greatest need is to be by your side and accepted in to your life and your home. A Pug is anxious to please anxious to learn and anxious to love. His/her biggest requirement is that you love them back.

11 Pugs are easy to groom only needing a daily brush and ears and nose wrinkle checked and cleaned if necessary.

12 They need regular exercise, one or two short walks daily and they love a romp in a park or field.
