A
few words about some of the Pugs re-homed in 2002. Names and
identities have been changed to maintain confidentiality
The
Trustees are very grateful to all who take welfare Pugs
in and love and care for them

To the Friends of Pug Welfare and others for their continued,
extremely important support
Without this kind of support and devotion this Association
could not exist! (..and all these pugs would be very sad
indeed)

My
name is Vinney and I had a fallout with a large dog that I
had lived with from being a puppy. I had so many scars that
someone called a vet, who had to shave all my fur off and
I was cared for by a kind lady who gave me to Welfare when
I was feeling a bit better. I now live with a lady and gentleman;
the gentleman has a long beard, perfect for cleaning my nose
and face, puggy heaven.
I
am Can Can. I was so sad when my elderly owner fell over me
and after a long stay in hospital had to go and live with
a lot of other elderly ladies. I now have a new home with
puggy friends and human slave, acres of grass and a mountain
to play on.
They
call me Me-Me and 1 lived with a lady and lots of other Pugs.
I had a lovely time rushing around and being boss until one
day I had a bump and after a lot of pain in my eye it had
to be removed. I now live with a lovely family, get lots of
walks and sleep on a different bed every night as all the
family fall out over me.
My
name is Dee D. I lived with a lady and her two children who
loved me to bits. Some time ago a new baby arrived and our
daddy moved away to live. I was so sad when I had to go to
a new home but I am now very happy again.
Our
names are Jasper and Bertie and when we were puppies a lady
collected us in a car and we had a lovely time with lots and
lots of walks in the countryside. One morning we rushed upstairs
and Mum was asleep and we kept rushing up and down stairs
but we could not wake her. Then a man came who took us to
our next door neighbour and later that day we were collected
by Pug Welfare and we have not seen our Mum since. We went
to live with two ladies who loved Pugs, We were both getting
elderly and sadly Jasper who was older than me died but I
have got over it with the help of lots of love and cuddles
from my lady slave.
I
am Aro, I used to live in an old brick coalhouse with a concrete
floor and no bed, I was called a stud dog. A lady visited
where I lived to buy a puppy but having seen me she bought
me instead for a lot of money and when she had got me in her
car rang Welfare and explained she could not leave me but
she could not keep me and would they re-home me. After a lot
of veterinary treatment I now live with a gentleman who when
he first saw me said "a Pug from Heaven" and he
still thinks that. PS I don't miss visits from the girl pugs,
I now know that there is much more to life than that!!
My
name is Holly and my owner was taken seriously ill but did
not want to part with me. Welfare arranged a foster home for
me with a very kind lady who spoilt me rotten. My Mum is unable
to have me back and so I am going to stay with my foster Mum
for ever and ever and that suits me fine (..but I still remember
my first love, don't we all?).
We
are two girls who live in a foreign country and after some
problems we came to England but the problems still existed
and so we were fostered by Welfare for seven weeks. Sadly
the problems could not be sorted out and so we have now been
adopted. We have both had a health check and how been spayed
and are very happy in our new home and have sent our original
owner some photographs and a nice card.
I
am a nine year old lady (63 in your years!) and have had a
very long and caring home all my life. But then I did something
very bad and unforgivable and it was decided I should be re-homed.
I was collected by Welfare and taken to a new home, I must
say I like it and am very happy. l have a large garden to
wander in and a bed in every room. My new Mum says I am friendly,
clean, obedient and her constant companion who follows her
everywhere, and I hope I can continue to be good.
Mr
G came to Welfare for re-homing due to his owner's ill health.
B
was re-homed due to his owner being unable to cope with
him as the result of a new relationship.
